So is anyone here planning on going to the 2009 Bonanza? I was just looking at the classes on the website and don't see any class for lifted carts with stock motor and controller, only non-lifted. I know a lot of guys have lifted carts and are still running stock drive trains.

I'm planning on going, but I found out I will have to race the bike engines. So the excitement of having a chance to win at anything has dissapeared. That's a long way to drive to get my doors blown off... I think it's payback time from the last one I attended...

Same here. Mostly stock but lifted. Don't care about the getting down and dirty events.

There are "other" events than drag racing. Plus, just watching other guys trash there carts is funny as snot! They are having a vendor row, so it might be a good time to score an upgrade or two. And, you get to meet the real gearheads of this hobby of ours. I went last year kinda on a lark, took my cart even though as soon as I got there and saw who I was up against my heart kinda sank. This year I will run more events.

Sounds like a good time! I want to go if they allow my 4cyl limo in the outlaw class. Shoot at 70hp with 33's there are probably a lot of lighter carts that could beat mine though.

Anybody joining the NGCRA?

Never mind Frank. I see now.

Class 6. Outlaw
No 4-wheel drive. Cart must start out as golf cart. Anything goes. Electrics at 72 volts or higher, Gas carts 24 HP
and up.

Thats the same class we have to race in. And we are giving up 104 volts to KK. Thats alright, I like being the under dog.
But I do agree that Class 6 should be re-looked at for the gas carts

I sent Roger a note asking for a "24hp and up/ stock drive train class", but he never responded.

I've been fielding a fair amount of questions from some of the drag racers. Heck, some of these radical 23hp motors are putting out more ponies than my big blocks.
