Hello all, I am new to the forum and to Gof Carts. I just purchased a refurbished 2008 EZ-GO TXT 36 Volt with new batteries. This cart came with a brand new Lester 36 Volt High Frequency Onboard Charger. It wasn't till after purchasing this cart that I found this forum and that onboard chargers are not the best option, well its a little late for that now. My issue is that the Charge Complete light remains lit after charging is complete. This isnt much of a problem until I am ready to charge it again, then I am forced to remove the positive side cable that supplies power to the charger from the battery to re-set the charger. Now there is no switch inline to disconnect power to the charger when not in use. Should I install one? Would this solve my issue? I would greatly appreciate any help. I know this is an automatic charger, but I dont think there would be much of an issue if it was re-set each time. Also just for more info I do have a state of charge meter that is fairly accurate. Thanks

Don't worry too much about what you read about on board chargers, it should be fine.
You can also take the charger off the cart and use it as a stand alone unit.
Lester makes a good charger.
Yes a switch in the line will work for what you are trying to do.

Does your charger look like this?

I'm not sure why you want to remove this from your cart. They are weatherproof and designed to be an onboard charger.
If you drive the cart and use up the batteries, does it not come on when you plug it in or do you have to disconnect the wire and reconnect it?
