2007 Gas Precedent POWER ISSUE!

My gas powered Club Car Precedent wouldn't run and during the trouble shooting process I replaced the Starter/Generator, Solenoid and the battery. Finally got it running but have a power issue. Over the weekend the battery wouldn't stay charged and eventually drained to 0 amps and died. I bought a new battery today and when I went to install it, the cables arced pretty badly. When I fully connected the terminals the motor started to turn over. The brake is on, the gas pedal is not suppressed and the key is not in the ignition.

I now know why the battery is being drained. Does anyone know how or why the motor is turning over and trying to start?

A stuck starter solenoid is the only thing that would cause that issue if it ran correctly before the last battery change . Did you replace the solenoid with a continuous duty golf cart part?

A guy at the campground had a spare solenoid, which we thought was the issue so we swapped it out. It must be bad? He said it was new and the part# matched my cart so we gave it a shot. Didn't know anything about continuous duty?
