What is the process for pulling the clutch? I have done a search and didn't find too much about it other then I didn't need a special puller. I hooked up a simple 3 jaw puller and hooked it to the outer edge of the clutch the triangular shaped piece and l tightened down the bolt but I didnt feel comfortable really tightening it down and whacking the center bolt of the puller because it just doesn't seem right with the bolt being so long I feel like I need to use a larger puller and hook the jaws to the inner most pulley that is the starter drive pulley and try to pull the whole unit off but since I don't know for sure, I thought I would post it here first.

Thanks

Ok after no replies I figured I was asking a "covered a thousand times" question and found that I do need a special puller a long machined bolt with threads for engaging the clutch and pressing it off though it wasn't here that I found that info but anyway cool. Not going to pull it off just yet so I will update when I get to it

You can buy the puller for around $30 or get some large metric bolts to fit the thread in the clutch. Push a long thin screwdriver in or measure the bolt to get a length for the pin you need to bottom out. Deduct 3/4" and screw the bolt in to push the clutch off.
If you need a pic of the puller hit me back!

Thanks for the reply, I have seen what it looks like on the net and I have to smile because it is a very simple puller design that works marvelously. When I get a chance I am going to head over to my buddies shop and see if he has one that I can borrow, I just hate to tear into it yet as I know it will be down for a while and I am having a blast using it around the house plus I don't have the dough allocated for a hobby project right at the moment
