2005 Precedent reverse only

I have a 2005 Precedent. I was doing a motor swap and had the cables on motor arc while putting back on.
I now know that I should have had batteries disconnected. My problem is now that the cart will only go in reverse.
When switch is in forward it backs up and when switch is in reverse it backs up. Any ideas on what to do to fix. I have been told by one that probally fried something in speed controller. Would like to know if anyone else has had this happen and what was fix.

is it possible that you crossed a wire on the motor?
but the fact that you sparked the motor may have taken
out the controller.

It was controller. Replaced it and runs fine now
