2005 Club Car Precedent Backfires

Need help please - I am new to owning this 2005 Club Car Precedent gas golf cart and after warming up, the engine backfires from time to time when you step on the accelerator pedal. Engine was just serviced with new oil, filter & spark plug. I also filled with fresh gas and changed the air filter. Any ideas? Thanks

Sounds to me like you need to add some slack in your cable under floormat. This cable adjusts to carb and govenor......more slack should help close carb and prevent backfire. I had the same problem when slowing down and almost at a stop......boom backfire.....try adding a little slack to cable at a time and retry!

I will try this adjustment and check if the Carb is closing all the way.

I ran some carb cleaner through it and then cleaned and regapped the spark plug. This seems to have solved most of the problem as it only has backfired once since. Before it would do it everytime you drove it. Thanks for everyones help.
