I'm a newbie, I have a 2004 CC 48v it runs but it lack of power especially going on a slight hill. Batteries, speed controller and potentiometer has been inspected and tested. I will appreciate any advise I may have missed somewhere along during inspection.

Thank you for the welcome and your quick reply, on a level luck to get 3-5 lucky if it does reach 5mph, start to incline drops to crawl. Downhill, has no limit, just flies.

3-5 MPH on evel ground! That not even close to the speed it should have. Is this a guess or a GPS speed?
I would have the batteries load tested while they are under a strain.
The cart is a 2004 what year are the batteries? If they came with the cart it's time for new ones.

The batteries are brand new, less than 30min. running time. I find it very unusual for these symptoms with new batteries.

The batteries are new, they need to be charged each time you use the cart.
It will take about 25 charge cycles before these reach their full potential.
The cart should go at least 12-13mph on the flats.
What is the total pack voltage? It should be around 50.9v
If it is not, check your battery wiring to see that it is correct, you may have one reversed.

New batteries right out of the store need to be charged before riding the cart. Make sure they are fully charged before riding it. If you keep running them down they will never perform well or have a very long life span.

I have 49.8 I've tested each cell 2 out of 6 is 12.25-12.65 and the other four very fair and good. Before I had these new batteries installed it was basically running no different than it is now. Originally there was 3 bad and 3 borderline. I've complain about the batteries weren't all up to par and they basically said the same as you did. Being new you who have good 10-12 mph. I do have it on the charger and see how soon it'll be done and do another reading with hydrometer.

The batteries may take up to 16 hrs to totally charge. Let the charger kick off if you know the charger is good. The batteries shouldn't very much in there readings.

the first new set was Interstate and did find it was not charged up (cool problem solve), then I went to get AC Daleco (GC8v) huh! I've been fool once shame on them, now I'm been fool twice same on me and still perform unusual.

Both your voltage and SG readings are consistent with your batteries being less than 80% charged.
Even at that voltage your cart should go 12mph. When you changed the batteries, did you change the cables? As a good measure, these should be done whenever you change batteries.
Also check you brakes to see they are not dragging.

Make sure you have 8 volt batteries! I have seen this before and come to find out it was 6 volt batteries in the cart. Your batteries should have 4 caps on them.

Hi everyone, I'd really appreciate y'all taking some time out of your way helping me out. I'd just check the charger and still charging up to 56.8 @ 5a, also yes it's 8v batteries and cables in great condition. I could replace with new cables when it's done charging, ends wasn't corroded so I just clean it thoroughly.

It's not uncommon for batteries to take up to 16 hours to charge.
When your charger reaches near the end of the charging cycle it should be charging at 60v-63v.

When I left yesterday it was still charging at 57.2 @4a, it seems like it needed a deep charging like you're saying. I was using another charger this time around to check the difference in charging time, I'm wishing this will resolve it, all your guys great advise had lead to the batteries. I'm going to check and test the batteries when I go in.

I've just arrived and it's still charging, it's up to 59.2v @ 4a, batteries are pretty warm. Battery guy said if it get to that point (warm) the charger is over charging and start to put a bulge on the sides. Well it tells me to stay here with you guys an never mind the guy who sells me the batteries.

How long has it been charging? If they are getting warm then I may would take them off the charger and let them rest for 1 hour and check your readings. Don't ride it or anything for that hour. See what you have. You know this charger is good right?

Well after last email I had sent the charger was done and it had read 52.8v, I had left the VOM on get my GPS took it for a test drive............I got the same results, but now I can give you guys more accurate information with speed and voltage. On a flat I'll get 6-9mph, on a questimate 10% incline it drops to 4-3mph then I had stop turn on a 5% incline it'll start at 8mph while I'm still testing for voltage drop along with mph and goes down 7,6,5mph made a u-turn on same hill going down. It almost seems like there no real voltage shooting to push the controller or motor.

yes this charger seems to be in working order. When I did test drive it earlier, it was pretty cool down before doing the tests. I had mentioned earlier on results of test drive, What do think going on with the power source.
