2003 Sportsman 400

I have a vacuum hose, small diameter, with a check valve in line. I “think” one end goes to the bottom of the carburetor, I think. The other end no clue, and - which direction the check goes - any help out here?

If one end hooks to the the float bowl on the carburetor it's probably a vent or drain hose. The check valve would keep water and other debris out of the carburetor.
