2002 EZGO TXT 295 Engine Surging at Full Throttle

Since you all were so great on my last question I hope you can point me in the right direction again!!

Bought a 2002 EZGO TXT golf cart with the 295 engine last week. During test run is was slow but I could see the throttle was not opening the whole way. Figured no big deal and that it needed a cable adjustment. So I did. Adjusted the them both just above the rear diff.. Now at wide open it is surging. Anything less and it does not surge. I do not know how old the gas is and I have not done any other repairs/maintenance yet. Thoughts???

Thank you!

My guess would be the rev limiter is working. Adjust some more

Usually a cable adjustment would of been good depends on where the person you bought it from had it adjusted if the spring on the rear end is adjusted to far it will surge good luck

So my original reason for adjusting the governor/cables was to increase it's speed. My neighbor bought one at the same time and place I did but mine is WAY slower then his. It was slower when we bought them but he found them so he got his choice. I did change belts, plugs and all filters. Any thoughts as to how to make this thing a little faster since when I adjusted I got up against the rev limiter. Thank you again

The cable from the pedal to a junction, the governor and then the junction for the cable to the carb. Is that what you were asking?

Can a pulse make 1999 EZGO surge? I replaced all electric, cdi, regulator, coil and pluses now engine surges when trying to drive it.

Usually surging is a governor issue you can tell by how far the 10mm nut is ran down on the spring on top of the differential would check here if the butterfly at the carb is fully closing and opening properly
