Working on a 2002 EZGO TXT PDS golf cart for lady who's son tried to fix it. Brought to me with batteries put in wrong and other problems and the golf cart is not running. Anyway, I bypassed reed switch but can't get reverse buzzer to work to get in test mode checked buzzer off of cart and works. Microswitch in pedal box good and have 36 volts to solenoid. Key switch is sending power to solenoid. Will a bad controller keep the solenoid from engaging on PDS golf cart? I unplugged wire to controller from pedal box and ohm out switch-(good) when the throttle pedal is pressed.

I'm not sure whats going on but if this person didn't know what they were doing its quite possible they took the controller out. You can download a EZGO Electric golf cart manual here at Cartaholics and at this point because this cart has been thur several sets of hands i would suggest testing by the service manual. The service manual should give you everything you to test the golf cart and in the order you need to run the tests. Nothing scares me more than when i get a cart and the person says well so and so's son was working on it.

Yes a PDS controller can fail in such a way that it will not let the solenoid engage. They can fail in other ways too. Many other ways. I suspect controller on this one.

It was the controller. Got in another EZGO PDS golf cart to work on and changed controllers. Never had one that would keep the back-up buzzer from working. Learn something everyday. :hattip:
