2002 ezgo for hunting

my buddy keeps telling me i cant put upgraded controller cables etc.... with a stock motor. can someone clarify what i can and cannot do!? 2002 36v ezgo series ,my 6in jakes lift and tires will be in monday. i want to put a 650 controller, cables ,hd solenoid,hd fnr and try that for a while and see how it does . ... adding an upgraded motor later possibly or not. can i do this? is it recomended or not? help!!!!!!!!!!! hahaha

The 650 amp controller and everything else you mentioned will work fine on a series cart with a stock motor. You won't see any difference in torque after you get over 400-500 amps with the stock motor but the 650 amp controller will hold up better under tough conditions a hunting buggy is used for. Another plus going with the 650 amp controller is you'll already have it if you decide to go with a aftermarket motor that requires it.

A DCS or PDS cart and a big amp controller can cause issues with the stock motor but a series motor will work fine with the higher amps.

You may not need it. I'd do all the other upgrades first and if your not happy with the torque buy a motor like a D&D Stealth Stalker or a GE Beast. On the cable upgrade I'd go with 2 gauge cable if you plan on a high torque motor upgrade.
