2002 EZ GO TXT Running slower

As of the past year I noticed my cart doesnt have the speed like it used to when were golfing. I just thought it was the batteries being they are 8 years old but I just put in new Trojans and wires and it does the same thing. You step on the pedal and it takes off but going down the fairway it just dont get up to speed. Its not terribly slow but definitely noticeable.
The best I can describe it is like iif your in a car with a manual transmission and you dont shift up a gear after you take off if that makes sense.

Welcome to the forum!
If you are asking a question please post all the info you have on your cart like make, year voltage, series, regen etc. and maybe we can help.

Its a 2002 EZ GO TXT with the F-R shifter by your legs. Its a 36 volt. It acts the same way it did when I had the old Batteries in it. So I dont think its a Battery problem.

For your future reference, you have a series cart.
New batteries take about 25 charge cycles before they come up to their potential.
While you're going through the wait, if you haven't changed your cables, that's always a good thing to do when changing batteries and they're cheap.
Make sure all of your connections are clean and tight, even the ones on the F-N-R switch.
Charge your batteries every time you have 15 minutes or more peddle time.
When charging, let your charger finish it's cycle.
Never run the batteries lower than 50% or they will suffer reduced life expectancy.

Are any cables, forward and reverse switch, solenoid, controller getting hot after you drive it a while? Start with checking that. Look closely at the F&R switch for signs of heat.

well I let the batteries recharge until the charger shut off. I took it out for a drive with the kids on it with me so it had a pretty good load. We drove it quite a ways and up a couple good size hills. I felt all the cables and components and nothing felt hot. a couple cables maybe a tish warm but thats it. On flat pavement it went 12 MPH going by my gps. What is the ITS sensor? And what is its purpose?

The ITS sends the siginal to the controller for the throttle position. 12 MPH on level ground is about right for a stock series fleet cart.
