My G16 living in Mesa AZ now has a 12 crack in the gas tank which I was told is unrepairable. The updated part number is JU0-F4111-01-00 which is discontinued and I can't find one in stock anywhere Does anyone have a suggestion ? Where to find one or what other modified tank that could work ?

With a 12" crack you may need 2 or 3 of these kits. I have used this to patch a plastic fuel tank that had a metal T style fence post puncture on an F350 after they ran over a fence post and it punched a hole in the plastic tank. Most auto parts stores carry it. Clean up the cracked area with lacquer thinner and then scuff with 80 grit before applying

Well I needed my cart to work as I use it each day in my RV Park in Mesa. If you can even find a new tank it was over $500.
My 12 inch crack was too long to fix and the Resin tank became brittle. So $30 bucks and about an hour, and the CART is back running. Bought a 3/8 IN x 5/8 grommet for the fuel line and the 2 gallon tank from Lowes fits perfect !! I drill a 3/16 hole in the top of the handle for a vent and I done think any gas will come out of there as long as I don't fill the tank. I used I ratchet tie down to hold it securely in place.
I think this is Macgiver is simplest and cheapest to fix a bad obsolete G16A gas tank

Oh BTW I used the No Spill Gas Can as this model has the filler hole is on top where others are angled on the side and would be harder to refill . YAHOOOO let go Carting

While I admire your ingenuity that is not not a good permanent fix. I don't think I would want the tank venting into the engine compartment; you could end up on You tube. Check out this link to a 3 gallon aluminum tank. Permanent solution that is cheaper than stock and twice as good if you can make it fit.

Ya for sure that is a nice looking tank and a great option. The Yamaha original gas cap is a vented cap that vents in the engine compartment.
The compartment is not enclosed so I can't see that being a problem. And fuel vapors always drop downward like there do in boat and thats way boats have blowers. The bottom of the cart is wide open. But I may ride a hose from the hole in the handle to the bottom of the cart that way and spillage would be outside on the ground But I like that tank it would also need a venting plan
