199x 36v EZGO Headlight Q's

Hello to all... as this is my first time at the forum and new owner of my first golf cart. I'm replacing the old battery with new T105's. I was surprised a single ground wire attached to the "first" battery. I inquired with the previous owner who stated it was for lights. Ok I get that.... but shouldn't it be installed on the 2nd battery in for 12V or does EZGO use 6v lights? I'm guessing its the first, just hooked up wrong? I'm planning on installing a voltage reducer for the lights. 120 watts should be sufficient- yes? Also where is the existing light fuse(s)? Do I need to install a new fuse before the voltage reducer.... after the reducer... or both?
Thanks and welcome any general suggestions for a first time owner!

120 w it's that input or output. Fuses on both are always good idea that way you can size each output to whatever you're running. You might want to go a little bigger we have no idea what kind of Lights you have led, halogen, we have no idea of the current draw and what you might add in the future USB port, radio, searchlights.
