1999 Workhorse hard to start

I have a 1999 workhorse that i am having trouble with. Lately it began having trouble starting. I am new to carts so be gentle. When i push on gas pedal it makes the normal whining sound but sometimes takes 15-20 seconds for the engine to start. I choke it but that does not help much. Once the engine starts it runs fine. I am afraid i will wear my battery out with all this time trying to get it started. Any help is appreciated. Thanks again.

i would check and adjust the valves, 9 times out of 10 the valves are the problem in these engines.

Is this something i could do or is it better to take it in for repair? Also where could i find a maintenance and repair manual for this workhouse? thanks again.

well it's a fairly easy job. if your like me when you take something in for repair, they always find something to run up the bill!!
i would get the manual from your local e z go dealer or look on e-bay, there are step by step for the valve adjustments in the manual or i can e-mail them to you.

sounds like the starter/generator belt is loose, all it takes is a 9/16" wrench
