1997 G19 Dead

I have replaced the batteries in my 48 volt G19 cart. Since installing, the cart seems to be DOA. I did not charge the new batteries, but am reading 51 VDC from the negative on driver’s side to positive on the passenger side. I can hear a small whine when the accelerator is pressed from the motor after the cart sits for a couple of minutes, and then nothing. The back-up alarm will sound when in reverse until I switch the cart into the tow position and back to run and then nothing. Anybody have any ideas where to start.

I'm having the same issue. had the controller rebuilt & FSIP said the controller was bad but rebuildable. had it rebuilt & it still does the same thing! You can push it just make it move & here the solenoid click. installed a new solenoid & still does the same thing... i'm thinking a motor problem now but wanted to try to get some advise first, PLEASE HELP!!

I've never had much luck with rebuilt controllers.

No, the run/tow is normal. When i put the cart in run & switch F&R to reverse the buzzer sounds. I did do this since my last post. i removed & cleaned the speed sensor (it was pretty cruddy). & first tested it & went forward & reverse a little bit & it seemed like it was gonna do the trick so got the seat back on & i took off in reverse, did fine. Then went to take off in forward BOOM...it started it again. It's almost like the batteries are shorting out. Also it does have a second of volt drop when u push on the pedal & the solenoid clicks & stays on & sometimes gets stuck i believe. I can jack it up & run it in forward & reverse & it does fine but once i put in back on the ground & try to take off i'm back to it doing the same thing.

If you had the switch in the run position when you replaced the batteries you probably fried the controller. Any time you're going to work on the carts electrical system put the switch in the tow position first...
