1996 EZGO TXT 36v Won’t Run

I’ve got a 1996 EZGO TXT 36v that I’ve put a new ITS sensor, new forward reverse switch, new controller and new solenoid and it still won’t run, it just clicks at the solenoid. I did the test on the motor and it runs. I’ve got power at the motor but it won’t go. Any ideas?

Have you downloaded the 1996 E-Z-Go Text Service manual? It has a great troubleshooting section that you can use with a multimeter to diagnose.

I have the same cart but my solenoid is not clicking, so I am running down the list now.

I figured it out, one of the 4 wires in the plug that plugs into the controller was not making contact.

How did you find this and how did you fix?

I was testing power on the wires on the plug, while I was doing it the motor started working. It was because of me pushing on the plug with my multimeter. It made it make contact.

Any chance you could take a picture of your solenoid? I’m a bit confused as to the direction of the solenoid. The old solenoid that I removed had the lip on top and terminals closer to the top but when I received replacement it was labeled the opposite direction with lip and terminals on bottom.
