i put it up on jack stand & it run fine but you put it on the ground & it doesn't have any power. doesn't smoke, fuel filter is new.this is my buddies cart & i'm just trying to get some ideas before i look @ it. what should valves adjust to & what should the compression be. thanks for any advice. by the way great site. john

the compression should be between 160/175 lbs

thanks for the reply, did a compression check on engine and it isn't good 30lbs on one & 90lb on the other.

any suggestions on what would be the best route to take, where to get parts, etc thanks john

did you do the test with the throttle all the way open? did you adjust the valves before testing. i'm thinking the intake valves are shot, there known for that problem.

yes throttle was all the way open. i was thinking it might be a valve problem to ( didn't know that was an issue with them) cause it didn't smoke like a piston or ring problem. this thing looks like it has been beat(even before we got it

) so do you think it would be worth just doing the head or should i ring & bearing it when i'm doing it? thanks again nubs you have been a big help.

i would adjust them and test it again, you need a real number to work from to know whats goin' on.

Why do I still love the e-z-go motors??? I have rebuilt at least 20 in the past 2 months! For some reason no matter how many I rebuild I will always own an e-z-go!

I am astounded and baffled it still runs with only 90-30 psi. It is the 90 that makes it run, really and the other cylinder is just being "dragged" alone. But given some load, the engine cannot pull.

As everybody has said, adjust the valves to .004 cold.

sorry guys i have been workin till late every night just wanted to thank everyone for the info adjusted the valves and she took right off. found out later the kids were trying to drag race it at the track.don't know were they get that stuff from
