Just added rear seat and concerned that factory brake lights are somewhat hidden when passengers riding in rear seat. (I have it street legal with plate and drive it on the streets) Thinking for added safty about adding some additional brake lights to the back of the foot rest. Also was thinking about adding one on the rear of the roof (like the ones in the rear window of newer cars) Has anyone done this ?? And can I just tap into my existing brake lights and turn signal lights ???

Yes you can tap into the existing wiring for the turn signals and brake lights. You may need to use a heavy duty flasher so they don't blink to fast.

i would run a led light at the roof andf hide the wires along the supports......this way you know everyone can see it................................

Well found the LED lights on a sight called "closertowholesale.com" ...What a selectoin and quick ship !! Got 2 Amber for the front of the top. 15"x1 1/4" fit perfect to lip of stock top.
Use for running lights and turnsignals. Also 2 red for rear of top..brakelight and turnsignal combo. Feel much safer driving arround town at night !!

Next Question : How can I tweek a little more speed out of my cart ?
Have the EMP motor and put the 4 guage wires on. Speed is fine with one or two people in cart (arround 22-23MPH ) But when I get four on the cart it seems a little too slow...also even with one person it slows quite a bit going up a slight grade.

It is 36 volt.. standard controller. Any chance of adding another battery or two and still use the same controller and motor. Or would that even give me additional speed ??

The stock controller is rated at 36 volts so you can't up the voltage without a controller upgrade.
How old are your batteries?

Don't know about the age of the batteries....they were in cart when I bought it a few months ago. They look clean and seem to hold the charge ...but I see no dates on them.

What brand and model are the batteries?

Are you using the switch for speed / torque or do you have the EMP motor Hard Wired?

Next time you charge the cart let it sit for about a hour. Take individual voltage readings on the batteries with a digital meter and write down the results.

Then ride the cart a hour or so and take the voltage readings again.

Post your results and we can determine the condition of the batteries.

You don't have to disconnect any cables to take the individual readings on the batteries...

I guess the EMP Motor is hard wired.....no switch....I just wired it like the stock motor was wired.

I will take the readings on the batteries this week-end and post.
thanks for your help.

Batteries are US Batterries 2200 March 2005

Didn't have a voltmeter at home to get a reading this morning, but took readings after driving it to work ( about 2 miles) this morning.

Individual batterries read 6.24 and 6.25 but the reading on all six is only 35.1.....doesn't seem to add up ????

No it's not adding up. Where are you taking the total pack voltage reading? If that total pack reading is from battery 1 to battery 6 you either have a problem with the meter or a bad connection or cable. Check them again and make sure you get a good connection with the meter...

HRC......

Took somemore readings today and even more confused!

Individul batterys are reading 6.1 to 6.2

#1 to #3 reading 18.5
#4 to #6 reading 18.5
but
#1 to #6 reading 31.2

Maybe it's your meter. At 31.2 volts the cart probably wouldn't move. Try another meter if you can.

6.1 and 6.2 are low numbers if that was fully charged.
