1991 Club Car

I bought this cart to fix up. I am new at this. The serial number indicates its a 1991club car. I am changing the battries. It had 6-6 volt batteries. When I looked at the electric motor it is a club car motor -part #1012191. The model# of the motor is 5BC48JB764. My question is: is the "48" in the model# indicating this is a 48 volt or not. I noticed whoever had this cart had put heavy gauge wire (4-ga.)on all the wiring. I was under the impression that in 1991 all were 36 volt. It is a resistor cart. Any thoughts from anyone or point me in the right direction.

Came with a Lestronic 2- 36 volt with crows foot. But I have been told that would charge a 48 volt just not 100%. Again I'm new at this. The question is is the motor 36 or 48?

Welcome to the forum.

The cart is a 36 volt cart and that motor part # is also. The tag on the motor should say 36 volt. The 36 volt charger won't charge a 48 volt pack...
