1991 Club Car Battery diagram

I have a 1991 club car with 6 batteries, not sure if it is a 36v or 48v (not sure how to tell). For some reason the black (negative) wire going from what I believe is to be some sort of solenoid to the first battery gets pretty hot, I am not sure if I have the batteries connected the right way, can anyone give me some advice? Thanks in advance.

Make sure the cable that's getting hot is good and the connections on it and all other cables are clean and tight.
