1989 resistor car

i have done search and have found not much on this car--is that bad or is that good? Anyway no go----39.5 on one side the solenoid--jump the solenoid got big spark-- no go-- nothing happen other than spark---now when i said i jump the solenoid i jumped from one big post to the other--or do i need to jump small post to big post?

You jump the large posts. It's best to make the final connection away from the solenoid. It will spark when you make the connection...

Next things to check would be all your connections at the resistor coils, the coils themselves and the motor.

1989, wasn't that the changeover year or was it late 88? What do you have 5 solenoid cart or a vglide?

i have two cars one is a v glide the numbers say its 1989--one solenoid--- the other numbers say 1988---5 solenoid---i have the 5 solenoid running thanks to you guys

Pop the cover off that vglide and make sure the arm is sweeping. You might have to pull some batteries to look at it
