1988 MARATHON WON`T MOVE

ON MY 1988 EZ-GO MARATHON THE WIPER SWITCH STARTED STICKING IN THE FULL ON POSITION SO I CHANGED IT , NOW IT WONT MOVE. THE SOLENOID ISN`T ENGAGING AND WHEN I RUN A JUMPER WIRE TO THE MICRO SWITCH SIDE OF SOLENOID IT WILL WORK. IT SEEMS THAT THE POWER ISN`T AT THE F&R SWITCH FOR THE SOLENOID ACTIVATION.WHAT DID I DO WRONG? I THOUGHT I WAS REAL CAREFUL ABOUT HOOKING EVERYTHING UP THE WAY IT WAS.

WHAT I MEAN BY THE WIPER SWITCH IS THE SWITCH THAT REGULATES THE VOLTAGE ACROSS THE CONTACTS DISTRIBUTING IT TO THE RESISTERS TO REGULATE SPEED OF THE CART.

If the cart was running before you changed the wiper you need to go over all your wiring and make sure it's wired correctly.

I was real careful about labeling and putting evreything back where it was, I even took pictures before I started and its wired exactly the way it was when I started. After checking it out this weekend I found that one of the resistors (the middle one) is fried and broken. I am in the proscess of getting A replacement assy but my question is : Would the broken middle resister keep the 36 volt solenoid that feeds the main contact on the wiper assembly from energizing? I have voltage going through the key switch, and the micro switch to the solenoid but the other small wire on the solenoid that goes to the F&R switch isn`t doing anything. If I run A jumper fron the battery to that terminal and press the accelerator it runs at high speed which I understand since the resister for lowewr speeds is burned.

the resistor shouldn,t keep solenoid from activating, have you tried jacking cart up and jumping solenoid to see if it runs? if so than you know it has to be in the activation cicruit...................one of the micro,s on the F&R................................

I checked all 3 micro`s with my Fluke DVOM and had continuity on all of them. Yes I hot wired thr solenoid and the motor ran.
