cart runs good at medium or full speed but when slow speed (like searching for a ball) it runs very jerky (very goosey) then usually when i come to a stop it backfires. (very imbarassing)

I had carb rebuilt last fall thought that would help but didn't. Tried readjusting all cables (throttle, choke, governor etc.) any suggestions???

i would check to make sure that the throttle butterfly is completely closed when the engine is off and that the starter engages before the linkage opens the butterfly.

Thanks so much for your input. Did as you suggested and hasn't backfired once, also smoothed out the slow idle. still putt putts at slow speed but i can live with that, after all it is a 2 cycle. People will just think it's a John Deere. lol
