1986 EZ-Go electric

Hi, I have a 1986 ez-go cart thats electric this is my first cart i just bought it which it ran fine until i put it in the back of my truck to bring home nowit won't move when i step on the pedal the solenoid clicks and when i switch it to reverse it beeps and clicks when you step on pedal but doesnt go anywhere any ideas ????

Check all your power cables, give them all a twist and a tug to see if you have anything loose or corroded to the point of no return. Your solenoid is clicking so it is probably working but I would check it also with a voltmeter. I would suspect a faulty cable.

It sounds like you have a bad connnection. Check all the cable connections to make sure they're clean and tight.

i checked all the connections they seem all tight and clean

thanx for the info i figured it out i need a controller but now i cant seem to find one any suggestions

If it's a 86 it should have resistor coils and no electronic controller.
It's possible that someone converted it. Can you post a pic of the part in question?

it has a little black box that with 4 cables going into the top and a connector with a few wires and the solenoid is attatched to the front of it when i jumped the B & M terminals it runs maybe that wil help you help me thanx alot

If all the connections and cables are good it sounds like you may have a bad controller.
