1983 club car

I recently purchased a 1983 club car golf golf cart 36 volts. I put new batteries in it, and it does ok, but I use it for hunting. Does not do good on hills. Anyone have any suggestions with what type of motor and controller I need? Would like some ideas on modifying this cart. Torque is most important, but would like a little more speed.

If the cart is a 1983 Im guessing it has resistor coils now for speed control. For hunting your best bet would be to convert the cart to a electronic speed controller like a Alltrax. D&D has great motors for hunting carts.
