1982 ezgo 36 volt marathon

My cart has only 1 micro switch on the f/r switch. The solenoid clicks in forward and cart moves but not in reverse. Please help! THANKS!!

Did it ever work in reverse?
Have you changed anything?
It could be the F/R switch or cables to it.

Yes it did work in reverse. This cart has been burning the wire on the right (Looking Foward) on the f/r board. The board was damaged because of it. I replaced the board. while working on the cart, a cable slipped and landed on a battery post. That made a huge spark on a rear battery not the one it landed on . I didnt know if i had reverse or not until after this.
