If the cart has a weak spark try a new spark plug first.
Your cart should have points and condenser.
If you have a single wire going under the flywheel, you have points and condenser.
Do this test ONLY if you have a cart with points and condenser...
If you crank the engine, you should see 12 volts at the positive coil terminal...
With the plug wire connected ground the spark plug on the engine case like you would to check for spark...
Connect a jumper wire to the NEGATIVE coil terminal, and momentarily touch it to the engine case. Each time you disconnect the jumper, you should see a spark at the plug...
If it sparks, CAREFULLY clean your points(they're under the flywheel), and gap them to .016". If the points are in bad shape you should replace them...
You can get to the points through the flywheel inspection cover...
