i got a 1968 harley golf cart!!

love it alot used to drive it for hours on end around town on and off road...

but it was running fine one day last year then virtually stopped running?? stopped looked it over; bypassed the inline fuel lilter> just to see if it would run?? with no success i had to push it home

so i started tinkering and if the cart was on a down hill slope it would start - run -and drive but very "sluggish" no power

any ideas as to what it could be?? i have cleaned and re-cleaned the carb and the spark is kinda weak ??

i have had spark plugs just go bad on old 2 cycles, start with that and check the points and make sure the contacts are not burnt, then check the gap. 0.20 if i remember right

the timing will seldom change outta the blue, could very well be fuel or crank seals. have you checked the compression? should be 120 lbs or better. start with the easy stuff and go from there

lol time for a temporary motor swap; then a rebuild on the bad one

sounds like ya found the problem. my

is to send out your cylinder for boring and just buy the piston/rings, crank seals and gaskets. most cyl kits out there are 99% junk.

ok out with the old and in with the new... old motor is out new motor is in and no start??? good spark; good fuel compressios is around 105 (not perfect but not great) and it still wont start?? even with the old motor and 35lbs of compression the motor would try to run. now i have almost tripple the compression; new points; cleaned carb and it wont even try to start not even with starting fluid??? any ideas or direction as where to go??
