06 Precedent won't go

I just bought an 06 precedent & received it this past Friday. The place I bought it from obviously charged the batteries before loading it for delivery because there was battery acid all over the delivery guys trailer floor & all over the top of the batteries. I unloaded it off of my trailer & ran it around the yard to make sure that it worked well & it did. I then took some baking soda & saturated the tops fo the batteries to get rid of the acid. I then took a water hose to wash the baking soda off. I didn't realize that the controler & wiring was in between the 4/12volt batteries. I don't think that it could have gotten very wet. I have charged the batteries again & it still won't go. I can hear the solenoid engaging when I depress the accelerator but nothing. Do you think it is a simple thing as the solenoid being replaced? I need help guys. I have never worked on a golf cart. I would appreciate any & all suggestions.

If it was running before you rinsed the batterries off chances are it will be fine after it sits a few hours and dries out.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I thought the same thing but that was on Friday & it is Sunday now & I still can't get it to go. Any suggestions? I am new to golf carts so anything would be appreciated.

I'd start with taking each battery cable off one at a time and cleaning the connectors and battery terminal with a wire brush. Try that and let us know if that fixes it.

ok, terminals are clean & tightened. Still nothing. I also don't hear the reverse buzzer when I put it in reverse. I don't recall hearing it when I unloaded it the 1st day that I got it when it was running. How do I go about testing the batteries to check the voltage?
