I need help with mounting my new controller. I have to drill holes to mount it correctly & I wanted to know if anybody knows what this vented aluminum plate is? What is its purpose? I assume it is for cooling the controller. There is no wiring coming from it or going to it. Can I drill into it to mount my controller?

Here is a pic of my cart almost complete. Lift kit added w/ Tire & Wheel combo. Just gotta finish the rewiring & put the controller in then hook it all up. Yippee.

The vented aluminum plate is called your heat sink. It draws your heat away from the controller.

Nice looking Precedent. Yes you can drill into the heatsink to mount the controller.
