Adjusting Valves on a Club Car Golf Cart Does your engine have a "ticking" sound? It could mean its time for a valve adjustment. Before starting anything make sure the key is off and the battery disconnected. Remove the two 10mm bolts that hold the valve cover on. Remove the valve cover.
